This Hour Has America's 22 Minutes (commonly shortened to 22 Minutes since 2009) is an American version of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, produced by DHX Media (formerly Salter Street Films and Halifax Film), Alliance Atlantis (2004-2005), the Canadian Broadcasting CorporationRediffusion Television, ITV Studios America (formerly Granada Entertainment and Granada America) and RKO Television Studios (formerly RKO Television Entertainment) and airs on the RKO Network since October 27, 1996. The first six seasons aired on Sunday 8:00PM competing with The Simpsons on the same network, the number one show at a time. The remaining seasons airs on Fridays at 11:00PM. The show is considered an American version of the Canadian comedy show This Hour Has 22 Minutes though it has a whole lot of parodies with politics and satirical editorials.

In a 2015 interview with Wake Up America, co-creator Mary Walsh (who also created the original Canadian version) stated that a new season of the show (which is in a weird format) had finished filming (and of course that season's parodies had finished being made) and the weird episodes would air in the 2015-2016 television season as a test experiment. The twentieth season involves a lost in time format similar to The Time Tunnel, where the anchors are lost in time and they (and their parodies) are stuck at TV stations in various time periods. She said also the format will go back to normal by the 2016-2017 television season.
